Mark doesn’t just teach resilience, he embodies it. Born with a life-threatening heart defect, Mark underwent two open-heart surgeries before the age of one. He battled his condition and it’s limitations for twenty-two years quite successfully, but at 23 yrs old, Mark was suddenly faced with the biggest challenge of his life. His doctor informed him that his heart was failing badly and that without a rare and dangerous heart and double-lung transplant, he would not likely see his 25th birthday.

At 23 Mark found himself living in a hospital, waiting for a life-saving transplant. Three years later, after receiving his second chance at life, he was running marathons.

Since receiving his second chance at life Mark hasn’t wasted a moment. Mark lives in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada where he spends as much time as possible with the most important people in his life; his wife Marise and their children Emma and Matteo.

Go Big

Your organization has an incredible vision for where you are headed. The future is bright, the stakes are high.

There’s just one problem; no one under the CEO really BELIEVES in the vision. You know that without buy-in from EVERYONE, you have no chance of rising to the heights that are possible.

What to do? Book Mark Black.

In “Go Big” Mark will use his life story of battling life-threatening disease, surviving a Heart & Double-Lung Transplant, to become a 4-time marathon runner, to help them see that ANYTHING is POSSIBLE and that we are more limited by our perceptions than anything else.

Key Learning Objectives:
  • Learn how to stretch individual and organizational vision
  • Re-frame perceived obstacles and challenges
  • Map out a step by step plan for your success
  • How to handle doubters and naysayers

“The passion and energy with which Mark speaks about the challenges he’s faced and how he can touch an audience when doing so, are remarkable. Mark’s message is profound. I’d recommend any organization who want to remind their people the importance of attitude and thinking in meeting goals and conquering challenges, to have Mark in to speak to their people.”
